Welcome To Our

High Risk Settings (Acute Care) Course

This course will help you to:

  • Identify specialised areas of the hospital where particular treatments are localized and support for your product may be required
  • Introduce you to the function of different specialised areas of the hospital
  • Recognise different elements of the chain of infection and its relationship with diseases
  • Reduce risk to yourself and patients by understanding standard precautions and PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Identify key actions in managing a clinical trial
  • Understand adverse incident reporting for medical devices

This is a “general” course and more specific training in relation to particular products may be provided at company level.

This course is designed to provide the knowledge required to visit the acute care areas of a hospital. Much of the generic information will apply in each area designated as a specialized unit or department, as patients being cared for in these areas are acutely ill and need specialist treatment.

Such areas include high dependency units, intensive care units, special care baby units and other wards or areas where patients may be seriously ill.

  • Course duration: 1 hour
