MIA – what is it?

The MIA (Medical Industry Accredited) service allows members of the medical technology industry to receive an ID card which demonstrates that they have successfully completed an accredited training course, qualifying them to be present in either the theatre or acute care environments.

The card provides assurance to healthcare establishments that persons from the industry are properly trained for attendance in these areas.

How does it work?

A unique reference number on the card is input into the MIA website, which will display the following information about the user (you):

  • your name
  • job title
  • organisation
  • photograph
  • confirmation that you have completed the relevant MIA course

(The information above and your exam pass rates are stored on a central database.)

Please note that:

  2. the MIA website is in the PUBLIC DOMAIN and is not restricted by password
  3. details held on the MIA website are accessible by entering the unique reference number on the user's card

For the scheme to operate successfully your consent is required before you can proceed to the course materials and exam.
